## 🧭 Weekend Blueprint

**Location:** Hudson Valley
**Energy level:** Low–medium
**Cost:** Low
**Best for:** Dads looking for an easy outdoor reset

---

## 🎯 What this helps with

You don’t need more time with your kids.

You need a better plan for the time you already have.

This blueprint gives your weekend enough structure to create connection—without turning it into a complicated production.

---

# 🛠 The Plan

## 🌲 Anchor Activity: Fahnestock State Park

**Location:** Cold Spring / Putnam County

A simple outdoor reset that works most of the year.

Why it works:

- Kid-friendly trails
- Space to explore
- Picnic-friendly areas
- Easy to adjust if energy levels change

**Time:** 1–2 hours
**Effort:** Low

The goal isn’t to “do the park.”

The goal is to give the day a shared starting point.

---

## 🌧 Backup Plan: When Weather Changes

Don’t restart the day—just pivot.

Options:

- Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum
- Bowling or arcade (Fishkill/Poughkeepsie area)
- Local library weekend programs

The goal is not the activity.

---

## 🏡 Zero-Prep Option: Home Base

When staying home is the right call:

- Pizza + movie night
- Board games on the floor
- Cook something simple together

No pressure to make it an “event.”

Being there is the point.

---

## 🔄 Wednesday Reset Night

Most dads focus only on the weekend.

The Midweek Reset is what creates consistency between visits.

Simple structure:

### 1\. Easy dinner together

- Tacos
- Pasta
- Grilled cheese
- Takeout

### 2\. One repeatable ritual

- Pancakes for dinner
- Short walk after school
- Board game rotation

### 3\. No-agenda time

Talk.
Decompress.
Just be together.

This is not a mini-weekend.

It’s a reset.

---

## 🧠 Why this works

Most custody fatigue doesn’t come from a lack of love.

It comes from a lack of structure.

This gives your weekend enough direction to reduce pressure—while leaving room for real connection.
